Question 1

How do you handle deliveries to large office buildings and medical centers in Portland?

Accepted Answer

Delivery to this city’s high-rise office towers and sprawling medical campuses requires a specific room, suite, or department name. You must enter these details at checkout so the driver can navigate security checkpoints or multi-building layouts. This prevents flowers from being held at a general loading dock or a centralized mailroom.

Question 2

How are flowers delivered to residential areas and apartments?

Accepted Answer

Flowers are hand-delivered to handle the city’s mix of narrow residential streets and secured apartment buildings. Drivers walk orders directly to concierge desks or designated mailrooms since there is often no porch or private outdoor space. Providing a gate code or a door buzzer number allows the driver to complete the delivery without waiting for street-level access.

Question 3

What happens if the recipient is not there or a flower is out of stock?

Accepted Answer

If a recipient is unavailable, the driver will attempt to leave the arrangement with a building manager or within a secured lobby to keep it off the public sidewalk. If a specific flower is out of stock, a florist chooses a substitute of equal value that fits the original design. A working phone number for the recipient is the best way to resolve access issues at gated properties or locked complexes.
