What people spend, and who it comes from

The question behind this category is almost never which flowers. It is how much is right. There is no expected figure, so here is the whole category split into three bands by price, with who each band usually comes from.

One household

$124.99 – $199.99

18 of 48 designs

One name, or a couple, on the card

Nothing in this band reads as a smaller gesture. It is set out on the same easel, in the same room, as everything else in the chapel, and the family reads your card the same way.

A family branch or an office

$204.99 – $269.99

16 of 48 designs

Where most senders land

Usually several people together — cousins, a department, a team — with every name written into one card message. This is the middle of the category, not a compromise in it.

Pooled, or immediate family

$274.99 – $349.99

14 of 48 designs

The largest frames here

Often one arrangement paid for by many people. If a group is deciding, one piece at this level does more in the room than three separate ones at a third of the price.

Whichever band you pick, the number on the arrangement is the number you pay, plus applicable sales tax. Delivery is free on all orders and there are no service fees, so nothing is added at the end.

Where each form is displayed

Most people buy one of these once or twice in a lifetime, so the shapes mean very little on a product grid. This is the room they are going into.

    Standing spray

Set upright on a wire easel, beside or behind the casket. Sent by extended family, friends and colleagues. On this page.

  2. 2

    Casket spray

Rests on the casket itself. Only one is used, and it is traditionally sent by the spouse, children or parents.

    Wreath, cross or heart

Also displayed on easels, flanking the casket or near the entrance where mourners arrive. On this page.

    Basket or plant

Stands on a table or on the floor, and goes home with the family after the service rather than staying at the chapel.

    Sympathy plants

Schematic, not to scale. Funeral homes place arrangements as the room allows.

The 4 forms, ordered by where each one starts

Each group carries its own price range, and the designs under it are sampled evenly across that range rather than clustered at one end of it, so you can see the whole ladder of a form in one screen.

Standing spray

$124.99 – $309.99

32 designs in this form

The form most people send, and the one to choose if you are unsure. It is arranged on a single face, so it reads as a panel of flowers from the seats, and the funeral home sets it on its easel when it arrives. This is also the widest group on the page, which is why the ladder below starts here.

Usually sent by
Extended family, friends, neighbors, colleagues
Where it stands
Upright on a wire easel, beside or behind the casket

Cross

$179.99 – $209.99

2 designs in this form

A cross-shaped frame covered in flowers. Send it when you know the service is Christian. For a service of another faith, or one with no religious element, a standing spray or a wreath is the safer choice.

Usually sent by
A church group, a branch of the family, or several friends together
Where it stands
On a wire easel, beside the casket or at the chapel entrance

Heart

$184.99 – $349.99

4 designs in this form

A heart-shaped frame filled edge to edge. Of the standing forms it reads as the most personal, which is why it usually comes from one or two people who were close rather than from a wider group signing together.

Usually sent by
The people closest to the family — a partner, a lifelong friend, grandchildren
Where it stands
On an easel beside the casket

Easel wreath

$199.99 – $324.99

6 designs in this form

A ring of flowers on an easel. The unbroken circle is the oldest of these forms and is read as continuity rather than as grief. Because wreaths are often set near the entrance, the name on the card tends to be seen by everyone who attends.

Usually sent by
Anyone outside the immediate family; the usual choice from a workplace or an organization
Where it stands
On a wire easel, often where mourners come in rather than at the casket

4 designs are named, not described

These belong to the same category, but their names do not say which form they take. The photograph on each product page shows the finished shape. If you would rather have it confirmed before you order, ask us and we will check the design first.

If a flower is unavailable

Minor substitutions can happen with seasonal availability, always of equal or greater value, keeping the style and color palette of the design you chose.

Delivering to a funeral home

  • The name of the deceased — as printed in the obituary. Funeral homes route deliveries by that name, not by the sender.
  • The funeral home name and street address — some run more than one location in the same town.
  • The date of the visitation or service — not the date you are ordering.

Questions about sprays and wreaths

How much should I spend on a funeral spray?
There is no expected amount. The designs on this page run from $124.99 to $349.99, and 18 of them are $199.99 or less. Several senders often combine into one arrangement and write every name into a single card message, which is why the larger frames exist at all.
What is the difference between a standing spray and a wreath?
Both are displayed upright on a wire easel. A standing spray is arranged on a single face, so it reads as a panel of flowers from the seats; a wreath is a ring on the same kind of easel, usually set nearer the entrance. Neither ranks above the other — the choice is the shape you prefer.
Who sends a standing spray, and who sends the casket spray?
The casket spray that rests on the casket is traditionally sent by the spouse, children or parents, and only one is used. Everyone else sends a standing spray, wreath, cross or heart, all of which stand on easels around the casket.
Is delivery included in the price I see?
Yes. Delivery is free on all orders and there are no service fees. The price you see is the price you pay, plus applicable sales tax.
Will the arrangement look exactly like the photograph?
It is arranged on the day of delivery, so seasonal availability can mean minor substitutions. Substitutions are always of equal or greater value and keep the style and color palette of the design you chose.
How late can I order for delivery today?
Order by 2:00 PM recipient local time, Monday to Saturday, and it is delivered today. For a service, order earlier in the day if you can, so there is time for the funeral home to place the arrangement before people arrive.
